PEP 2026

The Special Skills Seminar Week part of our Professional Experience Program (PEP) took place between April 27 and May 1 2026.

It was the first time since 2024, with five interns from OWL on board, Mika Sempert from Bielefeld University & Paderborn University, Hanna Siggelkow from OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Ekin Aslan and Phillip Oberschmid from Hochschule Bielefeld and Joaquín Polo from Bielefeld University. Our sixth intern, Bela Härle from Hochschule für Musik Detmold could not attend the seminar but will do his internship later this year.

We had the chance to visit many long-established institutions, including American Council on Germany, Institute of International Education (IIE) and Columbia University, and  reconnect with inspiring professionals from a wide range of sectors, hear their stories, and learn from their experiences. For everyone involved, it was an exceptional and enriching week and we are already looking forward to the next one.

Here is our brochure for the PEP 2026:

For more information about PEP, the requirements, and the application documents, please refer to the call for applications on this website. Deadline to apply closed on August 11, 2024.

Important note: Given unforeseen staff changes in the New York office (as of September 3, 2024), this program will now only be offered in a reduced format.

Shortlisted students will need to proactively find a host company. Students who have been shortlisted and who have secured a host company will apply for a J-1 visa in cooperation with our visa sponsor German American Chamber of Commerce New York. The Campus OWL New York office will bear the costs for the visa fee as outlined in the call for application.
