New Executive Director since February 2025
Campus OWL has a new Executive Director as of February 2025 — Michael Paulus. He returns to NYC, where he lived from 1992 to 2002, studying at NYU, teaching at NYU, Cooper Union and other NY HEIs and also working in translation for Colors Benetton, Guitar World and BMG Classics. He also headed the Cultural Program at Deutsches Haus at NYU from 1999 to 2002.
He served as director of the DAAD Offices (ICs) in Hong Kong and Seoul in the 2000s and early 2010s and then moved on to the University of Rostock, where he headed the Rostock International House until recently.
Representing the Campus OWL New York does not only bring him back to NYC but also to the region he is coming from, as he grew up in Minden and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Bielefeld.
He is happy to take over the baton from Dr. Katja Simons who established the office in 2019 and is ready to open the next chapter in the history of Campus OWL New York.
