Undergraduate Education
Tuition-free education offers students the freedom to explore and to put all their energy and time into learning and studying. Students develop independence, cross-cultural communication, and leadership skills, necessary for our increasingly interconnected world.

Studying for a full undergraduate degree requires sufficient knowledge of the German language and a university entrance qualification. All undergraduate degree programs are offered in German.
Prove sufficient German language skills. Check German language requirement at the university of your choice.
Check the subject-specific requirements at the university of your choice. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) database on admission requirements help applicants verify if their qualifications are recognized in Germany.
A more detailed database can be found at Anabin (in German). Students also have the option to take a one year preparatory course (Studienkolleg) to qualify for direct admissions.
After verifying the status of your university entrance qualification (“Hochschulzugangsberechtigung”), look at the specific steps needed to apply at the university of your choice.
If you attend a German School or partner school abroad and will be graduating with an Abitur, the same regulations are valid as for German applicants. Start to explore the sections for “Schülerinnen und Schüler” or “Studieninteressierte” at the OWL university of your choice.
